The institute acts as a research residence and event organizer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The institute is multidisciplinary, which means that it does not limit its activities to any specific field of research, but is welcoming qualified researchers from all fields as applicants. A research council consisting of high-level researchers selects the institute\u2019s researchers based on academic merit. A doctoral degree and a high-quality research plan are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The institute takes a favourable view of publishing in the national languages \u200b\u200bof Finland (Finnish, Swedish) and minority languages \u200b\u200b(S\u00e1mi languages, Karelian, Romani, etc.) and welcomes multidisciplinary research projects combining science and art. However, we do not require any specific publication format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The institute raises funds actively and uses the funds to organize scientific events and finance its own researchers. The institute will provide more detailed information when the call for researcher applications is launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
